Our Building

Our building was originally opened as Riverview United Church in December of 1925. It was built at a cost of approximately $50,000.00. The architect was J.H.G. Russell. Originally, it was constructed so that the former Riverview Church could be attached at the rear and accessed through the 'new' Riverview church. The older structure has since been demolished.

Grace Bible Church purchased the building from the Riverview United Church congregation in 1997.

The poem below is actually a special hymn written by Dr F. B. Duval for the dedication of the original building.

God communes with us through his Son's sacrifice
 

O God, this house we have prepared
Obedient to Thy sovereign will;
Accept it for Thy dwelling place;
Its reverent courts with glory fill.

And when we with our children turn
Our footsteps toward this sacred place,
Then make our hearts sincerely yearn,
In prayer to see Thee face to face.

And to Thy presence, ever kind
Reveal a way so plain and free
That every stranger here may find
Thy saving grace - Thy glory see.

Give true repentance from all sin,
And faith to grasp redeeming love;
Renew the life that's hid within;
With wisdom fill it from above.

That all who worship here may learn
Thy Holy precepts to fulfill,
To imitate the Savour's life,
And gladly do the Saviour's will.
Amen.
